The commercial products are damped (with water or solvents) or mixed with plasticizers to reduce the fire and explosion hazards of dry nitrocellulose. These agents may change the physical and toxicological properties. If the substance is formulated with solvent(s) also consult the card(s) (ICSC) of the solvent(s). The formulation with more than 12.6% nitrogen is used exclusively for the manufacture of explosives. Nitrocellulose, with water, not less than 25% water by weight: UN 2555; UN Hazard class: 4.1.
