Skin	Redness.	Protective gloves. Protective clothing.	Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
Eyes	Redness. Pain. Severe burns.	Wear safety goggles.	Rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible). Refer immediately for medical attention.

NOTES
CAS numbers for optical isomers are 87-69-4 for L-tartaric acid, 147-71-7 for D-tartaric acid and 147-73-9 for meso tartaric acid. L-tartaric acid is also known as E334. Environmental effects of the racemic DL-mixture have not been adequately investigated. The L-isomer has been adequately investigated, but no significant effects have been found.
