	SYMPTOMS	PREVENTION	FIRST AID
Inhalation	Cough. Sore throat. Burning sensation behind the breastbone. Headache. Shortness of breath.	Use local exhaust or breathing protection.	Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer immediately for medical attention.
Skin	Redness. Pain. Skin burns.	Protective gloves. Protective clothing.	Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention .
Eyes	Watering of the eyes. Redness. Pain. Severe burns.	Wear face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.	Rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible). Refer immediately for medical attention.
Ingestion	Burns in mouth and throat. Nausea. Abdominal pain. Shock or collapse.	Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.	Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer immediately for medical attention.

Effects of short-term exposure The substance is severely irritating to the eyes and skin. The vapour is severely irritating to the respiratory tract. Inhalation of high concentrations may cause lung oedema, but only after initial corrosive effects on the eyes and the upper respiratory tract have become manifest.	Inhalation risk A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C. Effects of long-term or repeated exposure Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Repeated or chronic inhalation of the vapour may cause chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. This substance is carcinogenic to humans.
